21 Warning Signs You Need More Information On Printers

By Scott Auer

Do you make thousands of copies on a daily basis at home or at work? Do you end up throwing away countless toner cartridges on a daily basis? In this economy, very few people can afford to waste. If you have been making an effort to be more green, but simply cannot go paperless, consider recycling your empty cartridges! There are so many easy ways to lessen the amount of waste you produce when printing.

The first thing that you should consider is refilling your used toner cartridges. Make sure to do a little bit of researching; some cartridges simply aren't made for refilling. Any kit you purchase should include all of the tools you'll need to do it at home or at the office, as well as a step by step guide. Many cartridges come with an "unplug and pour" option, but others will require you to make a small hole before you can pull the plug and refill the cartridge. Make sure the kit you purchase has the tools you'll need to refill your specific type of cartridge.

Once you've made the initial hole, make sure to shake the toner bottle very well. This will enable the toner to flow smoothly. You should make sure to leave air space while pouring the toner, allowing for easy refilling of the empty cartridge. Make sure to carefully clean up the exterior of the cartridge and seal the hole. The kit you choose should come with a rubber piece to prevent any sort of leakage during use.

Despite the obvious benefits, some people choose not to refill their empty cartridges. If this is the case, you should consider selling them to a remanufacturing company. These remanufactures have set up websites that make the process extremely easy for you; you send in the empty cartridges, and receive money in the mail. If they do not send you money directly, they will offer you deals on a new toner cartridge. In this scenario, everyone gets something out of it!

You may have a warehouse full of empty cartridges, but no desire or need for new or refilled ones. If this is you, put your entrepreneurial skills to work! If you know how to refill toner cartridges, you're in business; all you'll need to invest in is the toner to refill the cartridges of your friends and family! As long as you do a good job, everyone walks away happy!

No one likes to know that they're polluting the earth on a daily basis. However, it can't be helped; many businesses depend on the ability to print hundreds of documents a day. Try the above methods if your toner consumption is leaving you with a guilty conscience. The earth will thank you! Hopefully, you will put a little more thought into choosing the right toner cartridge for your printer, and choose one with recycling in mind.
