By Laura Gallagher

The internet goes without saying that it has become a huge part of the daily life of people and in this reason you need to understand how data transfer and internet connection work together in ensuring that your computer is internet connected. The 3 redirection mechanisms makes this possible through the TCP hand off, the HTTP and the DNS reroute.

The HTTP whose acronym is the Hypertext transfer Protocol. So as to understand the HTTP, you need to know that any document that is located in the internet is always identified by a distinctive type of URL and this includes the name of the inside server and also all the other names of the web servers.

You simply send a request by using the specific URL that has been provided to you and you can retrieve your document quite simply. The original document is the one that you will use to communicate with the server so as to be able retrieve all the data that you may need for your own personal use.

Identical documents can never use the HTTP because it is a waste of time and your energy as it will not be able to locate documents that have identical URLs. On the other hand the TCP hand off means that the TCP and the web protocol are merged.

If you want to utilize the TCP, then use two different machines that are collaborating in their functionality. This also like the HTTP only works with documents that are not similar and it allows the different segments to be set up.

The final part of the 3 redirection mechanisms the DNS which is the most preferred when compared to the HTTP and the TCP hand off because of the benefits that it offers that the other two doesn't.
